Dress in your Valentine Best!  What does that mean?

The majority of guests will wear something between dressy casual and semi-formal. Slightly more formal than jeans with a nice shirt, but slightly less formal than what you would wear to a formal event.

We’ve seen a mix of everything at the Valentine Dinner Dance. Feel free to be creative and dress for the theme or dress modestly in whatever makes you feel comfortable. We love you just as you are!

At the Valentine Dinner Dance we operate in table groups. Each table has 3 or 4 staff who are assigned 4 or 5 campers, depending on the needs of the camper.

If an attendee has a food allergy or dietary restriction please be sure to let us know when you reply to attend.

Be sure to also note it on your Emergency Card.

Please leave as many personal items at home for this event, there is not a separate area to store these.

There will be a coat check for attendees to put their coat upon arrival.

There is no cost to attend Camp PARC’s Valentine Dinner and Dance.

Contributions to help defray the costs are greatly appreciated. Donations can be made online or brought the night of the event.

The Valentine Dinner and Dance is specifically designed for campers and staff of Camp PARC. Parents/Caregivers should enjoy respite time while campers attend the party.

For those unfamiliar with the Johnstown area, please find a few ideas you could explore while your child is enjoying the party.

There will be dinner and dancing. Opportunity to get your photos taken at the photo booth, play some games, and a chance to win door prizes. At the end of the evening, we will gather for some sharing, just like campfire at camp. Then we will close with our closing song. On your way out there will be a gift bag for you to take home with you.

Complete the Emergency Card before you arrive at the party. Be sure to note any pertinent health issues, dietary restrictions, or food allergies on the card.

The card also serves as the camper’s Dinner & Door Prize Ticket.

Please remember to dress appropriately to be dancing and actively participating. Comfortable shoes are also recommended.

Most volunteers will serve as table hosts. Each table will have 3 or 4 hosts, that include adult and junior staff.

As a table host, you will:

  • Welcome campers with excitement and enthusiasm, as they arrive
  • Assist your assigned campers at the buffet line and during the meal (to cut food, get drinks, etc)
  • Collect the dishes and silverware at your table, following the dinner
  • Promote camper participation, during the planned activities, throughout the evening
  • Encourage and assist your assigned campers during the evening event.
  • Accompany the campers to the photo booth for a picture (one visit per camper)
  • Chaperone your assigned campers, if they should need to leave the room, for a restroom break
  • Supervise your assigned campers throughout the evening – Know where they are
  • Assist with Dismissal -Help campers gather their belongings before they leave to go home

Other volunteer positions include: parking, greeter, photographer, coat check, and activities.

Camper attendees will be picked up between 9 and 9:30 pm. Table hosts need to make sure campers have their coats, gift bags and are physically reunited with their parents/caregivers.

Once campers have left, volunteers help with tearing down the decorations and packing up supplies.

Volunteers should plan to be done around 10 pm.

Children, under age 12, who have served as a Peer Buddy at Camp PARC can volunteer at the Valentine Dinner Dance.

Children, under age 12, who have not previously served at Camp PARC, may volunteer alongside their parent/guardian at the Valentine Dinner and Dance.

All volunteers, regardless of position, will be seated at a table in the banquet hall.

Table hosts will go through the buffet line and assist campers with their meals.

Other volunteers will go through the buffet line once all attendees and tables hosts have gone through the buffet.
