Lights Shine Through the Rain
The 6th Annual Laps of Light Benefit Walk was held on Sunday, October 13. Despite the persistent rain, this year drew the largest crowd ever with over 700 walkers coming together to let their light shine.
“The great thing is, even thought it rains and it’s miserable weather, people still come out because they know how important this is,” said event chairperson, Chrissy Troxell.
Everyone at the walk came with a common goal to walk for those with mental or developmental disabilities, while also raising funds for Camp PARC. Through these efforts, the event grossed $22,674 to benefit Camp PARC and its programs.
Teams and individuals were challenged to fundraise for Camp PARC as part of their participation. The top-earning individual raised more than $1,800 and the top-earning team raised more than $2,300.
Individual Winners were:
1st: Patti Trent
2nd: Sadie Wallace
3rd: Sherri Andrews
Team Winners were:
1st: Mike's Mob
2nd: St. David's Lutheran Church
3rd: Princesses and Pirates
The event included raffles, carnival games, Corn Hole Tournament, food by Thomahawk Grill and entertainment. The event's Master of Ceremonies was Mitch Tercek, "Boss Frog" of Froggy 95.
Thank you to all who braved the weather and came out to support Camp PARC.
