Walkers shined through the rain

The 5th annual Laps of Light benefit walk was held on Sunday, October 7. Despite the less than desirable weather, over 660 walkers from 36 teams came together to let their light shine for Camp PARC.

Chrissy Troxell, Laps of Light Event Chair, said, "The weather was discouraging but the shining star through all of it was that people were willing to put on their hats, gloves, boots and ponchos and come to the walk to Camp PARC. They really let their light shine on Sunday night, it was truly a sight to be seen."

Everyone at the walk came with a common goal to walk for those with mental or developmental disabilities, while also supporting Camp PARC. Through these efforts over $25,000 was raised to benefit Camp PARC and its residential summer camping program.

The event included a motorcycle ride, raffles, food, carnival, Corn Hole tournament and entertainment. The event's Master of Ceremonies was "Boss Frog" of Froggy 95.
