First Helping Hand Scholarship Winner
Camp PARC is excited to announce its first Helping Hand Scholarship recepient. This scholarship was created to recognize and support an outstanding Camp PARC junior counselor who is pursuing higher education. The first junior counselor to be awarded this scholarship is Lucas Bailey. Lucas is a 2014 graduate of Conemaugh Township and has been a junior counselor at Camp PARC since 2010. Prior to serving as a junior counselor, Lucas volunteered at Camp PARC as a Staff Assistant for two years. Lucas will attend Messiah College this fall, majoring in Sports Administration.
The Helping Hand Scholarship is designed for high-school seniors who have served as a junior counselor at Camp PARC for at least two years and are pursuing higher education. In the spirit of People Always Responding with Compassion, the scholarship committee seeks well-rounded, kindhearted, and community-minded individuals who are interested in making a difference in our world. Applications for the 2015 scholarship will be available in January.
Benefit Auction - Thank you!
On Saturday, June 28, more than 140 people gathered at the Benscreek Lutheran Church Grove in Boswell for Camp PARC’s Annual Benefit Auction. The event was made possible by a combination of over 500 generous auction item donations by businesses and individuals around the community and the nation and the selfless contribution of time by over 40 volunteers. The net proceeds this year exceeded $17,000, which will be applied to camp scholarships and annual programs.
