Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community, and the personal rewards and experiences are something you will have for the rest of your life.

Volunteers are very special at Camp PARC and we greatly benefit from a volunteer’s time, talents, and generous spirit.

Nestled in the Laurel Highlands of Somerset County, Pennsylvania, Camp PARC welcomes campers to one of its three summer camping sessions, held each year in July. All of our sessions are residential programs, meaning all of the counselors and campers will stay on the campground day and night for the duration of the session.

About Camp PARC

Camp PARC: People Always Responding with Compassion

Camp PARC is a privately funded, nonprofit organization that creates recreational and social opportunities for children and adults with mental and developmental disabilities through its residential summer camp, based in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Camp PARC provides a unique recreational camp by integrating individuals with special needs and youth counselors to experience friendship, understanding, acceptance and allow respite for families and caregivers.

Camp PARC is committed to providing an unsurpassed summer experience for both campers and counselors. This unique environment – pairing volunteer high school and college students with mentally challenged individuals – creates an unparalleled sense of community. Through this community, Camp PARC consistently delivers a dynamic and fun-filled summer camping program, as well as offering campers and staff the true feeling of acceptance into society.

For over 50 years, Camp PARC has provided top quality care for our special campers during the week of camp, while also providing the families or primary caregivers of these campers with much needed respite. The summer camping program is often a life-changing experience for both junior counselors and campers, creating friendships surpassing the norms of society and time.
